Water Bottle

Post by Trigger » Fri Jul 20, 2018 9:57 am

At the BBQ I noticed various members had water bottles fitted to their chassis just by drivers legs - can anybody say what they bought ? I cant really find much that would attach to the chassis bars.

Hi Trigger

yes Ive got one. Have found it quite useful on longer (hot) trips.

I used a bike bottle holder, but one with an adjustable fitting so it could fit over the thinner bars on the Atoms chassis

the mount:

the bottle holder:

although you could use any bike bottle holder with that mount. This one matches though

and the bottle i would recommend. Keeps liquids ice cold or hot for hours. Made from a single metal extrusion, so no joints.

After 6 months of use Ive found the mount screws have become loose quite easily, so I will have to address that perhaps with some of that screw "adhesive"

some have also attached these to the bars in front of the gear lever, where I think the bars are slightly thinner. Probably better there, as you won't get muck thrown up on the bottle, which is perhaps more relevant to a Nomad owner :)

it only just fits. I think the Nomad thinner tubes are the same as the Atom

I have bottle in front of the gear lever on the Atom. This mount (out of stock it would seem):

It was very handy in Spain and puts the bottle out of the way in 'dead space'.
