Nothing to do with the fact that the ECU will be locked?? Not sure how “locked” it will be.
I can't see how Ariel can lock the mapping much if any more than the stock civic. I am 100% sure a reputable tuner could remap it. It might require an external controller but I am sure it would be possible even if the ECU is currently not accessible. But again that would change over time when someone cracks the ECU protection.
I would not bet on it, Tom is very confident tuners will have to mount an other ecu in order to do mapping. It is not the honda ecu i believe.
We’ll have to wait and see...I’m not going to map anymore, doing the 350.

I would also not be too sure some tuner is going to crack it as there is so little demand. My gt-r took them a year before it was cracked and there was a massive market for that car.

I really think he said the package comes with a sportcat for mot purposes.

Love the picture with the Atom 3 and the Atom 4. Really shows how much more modern and sleek the design is for the Atom 4. It makes perfect sense that Ariel would lock the ECU. They charge a decent amount of money for there upgrade and will make sure the re sale value is better if it is a factory upgrade not a ECU tuner upgrade. For me it was the first tick in the options list. Really hope it does come with a cat on the upgrade.

Henry,

Please confirm what is included in the "350 BHP upgrade".

The spec list says Sports Exhaust Silencer+ Decat pipe + ECU reflash. Does the pack also include a sports cat that can be fitted to pass the MOT?

I am interested in fitting the pack if it comes with a higher flow sports cat AND the decat pipe. I didn't realise the sports cat was included.

For me stock backbox, sports cat and remap seems ideal assuming it is still circa 350BHP (approx).

Tom has confirmed to me that the 350 pack does indeed include a cat which can be bolted in for MOT compliance. :tu:

IMO that should be listed on the spec list (ie decat and sports cat included), but happy days either way. :)

Now i'm wondering how much power i would lose due to the stock back box on track....

Tell yourself its 0 power loss, until someone proves otherwise its must be true and you would have the exact same power as everyone else, simples ...

I am tempted now we know there is cat for MOT time.

With the stock back box for track noise limits sounds like near as damn it £2.5K for circa +25BHP (hopefully).

It all comes down to the spread of power really. Might get a bit less lag as well due to reduced back pressure.

Hmmmm.

Officially 6 weeks into production of customer 4's tomorrow.

The first cars should be nearing completion over the next few weeks.

Anyone got a collection date yet? :)

Its July now and I NEED to see some happy people collecting their cars ASAP! >:D

Even though cars might be ready, there are typically variable delays due to booking an offsite IVA Test slot.

Not expecting mine until end of July or beginning of August. I spoke to Tom last week and no delivery date or ETA yet. I guess they are being cautious as might be parts delay or building slowly due to first customer builds and not yet familiar with the process. Mine is 4 weeks into build

Mark,
Makes perfect sense 4 weeks in. Likely an 8 week build approx. as they ramp up and gain experience.

Looks like i will be slipping into October though. I was hoping for September for some decent weather. :(

Lets hope they run the grey frame 350 car with full aero up the hill! 8)

Not sure the aero is ready though!

Tom told me they would have a sequential 350 soon. On a movie about the motorcycle I saw a fully build yellow panelled car...during the tour I did not see a yellow panel anywhere...
I would not be surprised if we see a yellow 4 on goodwood. Would be nice to see the wings, did not like them so much on the pictures. Do think they are much more active
