Don't mind at all, but I can't answer as I dont know. ;D
I guess I'm in the first five, as it's on the line at present.

Ha ha. Very helpful. ;D

Looking forward to more pictures after speedmachine's visit!

I wonder how many customer cars they have in build? Think the titanium frame one in the pic is a factory car.

Not long now though. The first customer car has been in build for nearly 4 weeks. Should be coming together nicely! 8)

I spoke to the factory last week, car No 29, been told to expect it around the end of the year, more time to save for some upgrades I suppose!

some more pics, also one of a 3.5R, what a great car...best experience ever, the current demo 4 cant beat this sequential...

the new hubs and AP's look insane, car feels like a very adult and stable Atom on steroids, it feels much much faster, then again I reckoned that due to the power being delivered in a much smaller powerband, this is pretty logical, seems fair that the times are the same as the old ones. the experience is much more brutal though, and it is more usable due to the stability

further....there will be no chiptuning by third parties as the ECU will be locked...which seems like a good thing for me, I would always have gone for the biggest number which doesn't seem like a good idea after a test drive, so I specced the 350 package after all.

Also, you cant buy the bypass pipe without the 350 package, because if you would fit it, the car would need a remap. The cat is the big original honda lump, so very restricted which cant be deleted without remap.
If you do buy the 350 package it includes a sportcat for mot.

I think this is a fair and good way of working, after all I think I dont want my 100k (incl taxes) brand new car to be mapped by someone else then the factory...

All in all it was a hell of a weekend, the factory, in all its smallnes was massive impressive ( there where 3!! V8's), Tom is a nice and fair dude, giving honest advice for what is best for me. All others seem like a pretty professional bunch!

Thanks for the pictures speed! :tu:

There is also a snippet of crucial info in there too.

I thought the 350 kit was a simple remap, decat pipe, and back box. If it includes a sports cat as well thats GREAT. I would be much more interested if the kit has a bolt in hi flow "sports" cat as well. Sounds good! :tu:

Price list does not mention a high flow sports cat "350 BHP upgrade - Sports Exhaust Siencer+ Decat pipe + ECU reflash" which i why i was confused.

I would prefer to run a high flow cat (for performance without MOT issues) and normal back box for noise purposes on track.

350 map, normal back box and sports cat sounds perfect for me. Much more reasonable price for the pack too with the sports cat included (which isn't going to be cheap!). I think my spec could be changing...

Nothing to do with the fact that the ECU will be locked?? Not sure how “locked” it will be.

I can't see how Ariel can lock the mapping much if any more than the stock civic. I am 100% sure a reputable tuner could remap it. It might require an external controller but I am sure it would be possible even if the ECU is currently not accessible. But again that would change over time when someone cracks the ECU protection.

A 'locked' ECU is, in most cases, absolutely no problem whatsoever to most of the better aftermarket tuners - most should have the tools to calculate the password key from the 'hint seed' in a few minutes!
