Two flashing red lights
Two flashing red lights
Guys,
Anyone know what two flashing red lights means on the shift indicator on the dash two?
Have just seen it as I was braking for Tower and have pulled off.
Cheers
Steve

Maybe, it's lost its configuration?
Did you press any buttons to store anythging or adjust anything?

Low or high warning. The dash should also have displayed which parameter at the same time but can miss it. Could it have been low oil pressure or low fuel level?

Usually low fuel or high temp. Do you know what temp you were running at the time? Quite a warm day so would expect you to be reaching 100/105 if really gunning it and the car will let you know its running hot. 110 too much. Make sure you do a couple of laps to cool down.

310=325! That'll be the Presidential Remap kicking in...
Re: Two flashing red lights
Thanks folks. I missed the dash readout (and can’t see it clearly in the playbacknfootage) but I think it was high water temp. It happened twice in the day, both when I was running two up and really pressing on (well for me anyway - hitting 125 mph into the braking zone for Quarry, which I think should be higher if I could get Camp corner right and have a higher exit speed).
I’ll hook a laptop up to it and see if I can get a read out.

May I ask about the overheating? It isn't something I ever experienced on my old car (supercharged 3).
Tom strongly recommended the aluminium radiator with the 3.5R. Is it this that has the occasional problem?

Alan,
My car is a 3.5 NA with a non red top K20Z engine and the standard radiator, so I can’t answer your question. I have yet to find time to download the data from the ECU but will post here when I do.

I think this is unlikely to be high water temps 105 is really getting on with it, if you are seeing 105 - slow down and cool it off 110 is WAY too hot.
... Its more likely to be low fuel.
Heres a really silly question:
Did it stop doing it after you filled it up?

Henry,
Here’s the thing, I filled up at the lunch stop (fuel readout was on 6 when I headed off to find super plus).
I filled up with BP ultimate and then drove back to the track.
Next session out (1 up) I spun having been a spanner on the way into the eases, meaning I got the exit all wrong. The engine stalled during the spin as I was not quick enough on the clutch pedal. After a few moments I turned the ignition off then on again and the care restarted.
The next session was fine and then the session after that (2 up) was when I saw the red lights and came in.
After letting the car cool down I went out again (2up) and saw the same warning lights again.
Came in, checked oil and fluids. found oil level was down a little bit and added about 150ml.
Final session (1up) no lights , but session was cut short due to a Clio blowing up.
No issues at all on the drive home (60 miles of A and M roads.
The puzzle continues.
