Re: tyres ,what are you guys running
When I first put the AO52s on my Atom 3, I tried them at the factory pressures and the car was insanly darty on the road. Recommendation from other owners was to try 12 front 14 rear and that's been perfect - so much better. Calmed the handling down and just so much more grip everywhere. Street/tra...

Re: tyres ,what are you guys running
Since we're talking about t[i|y]res here, what pressures do you guys run? The AA3 owner's manual says 20 & 17 PSI, but that seems low for street use. (Track it makes sense). When I first put the AO52s on my Atom 3, I tried them at the factory pressures and the car was insanly darty on the road....

Re: tyres ,what are you guys running
I’ve just switched to A052s and they’re a revelation. I understand why everyone has been banging on about them. I’ve not noticed a particular problem with pick up so far but I guess like any sticky tyre, when they get really hot they’ll pick up anything. Totally worth it though!

Re: Atom 3 rev counter fault
I got nervous about mine and started looking into what the options to repair or refurbish them is.. got through to the people who now own SPA and they basically said 'no chance'. They offered to look in their old boxes of demo units to see if there was a spare anywhere but no joy. I think really the...

Re: Alignment specs
If it's an Atom 3/3.5, you've probably done this but it's worth checking if you're out of steering alignment that you've not bent the bit of the upright that attaches to the steering arm. I had a small 'off' in a gravel trap and it bent that bit of the upright, giving me wonk steering. New upright o...

Re: Helmet and gloves
Excellent choices - don't think you'll go far wrong with those. As Luckky above says though.. a tinted visor is highly recommended - They help concentration, are priceless in the summer (especially low sun mornings and evenings) and look absolutely badass, let's be honest. My personal preference is ...

Re: Helmet and gloves
Well, it all depends on what you think the function of a helmet is? If it's to keep your head warm, quiet and dry while keeping the wind and bugs off your face, then a cheap helmet will do the job every time. Even the cheap ones have to meet the main safety standards. For an Atom, it's definately ar...

Re: Helmet and gloves
Echo most of the above - helmets are very personal, due to fit and cost. Personally I’ve always fit Arai so I tend to just buy the best one I can afford. Worth noting that Bike Helmets tend to be a bit warmer, a bit quieter, bit more adjustable cooling and bit better in the pissing rain. But.. I’ve ...

Re: What do people think of this?...
I may be wrong but this has been for sale for a long time, maybe even a year. Also, for such low mileage it seems quite worn? The exhaust, the seat, the steering wheel look to have had a lot of use. Combine that with all the tape on the chassis, no lights and the absolute basic spec makes me think t...

Re: Keeping an Atom outside under a Cover
Just my 2p but I think there's a big difference between the Atom being designed to get wet, versus being designed to thrive in a damp or endlessly-outdoor environment. The car is great in a shower, even a torrential one - all the water runs out of all the holes and all the things that need to stay d...
