Re: Registered on Maui as a 1957 Lotus
I had assumed if ANYONE could get it done it'd be you. Sounds like typical bureaucracy though. Thanks to a previous lawsuit here in Washington Atom's are street legal, but when I went to register mine, the DMV couldn't figure out *HOW* to register it. I did a Google image search and found a pic of a...

Re: tyres ,what are you guys running
When I first put the AO52s on my Atom 3, I tried them at the factory pressures and the car was insanly darty on the road. Recommendation from other owners was to try 12 front 14 rear and that's been perfect - so much better. Calmed the handling down and just so much more grip everywhere. Street/tra...

Re: tyres ,what are you guys running
Since we're talking about t[i|y]res here, what pressures do you guys run? The AA3 owner's manual says 20 & 17 PSI, but that seems low for street use. (Track it makes sense).

Re: The dreaded click
FWIW, I've also seen someone hook up cable directly to the leads on the starter, and then tapping a battery with the other ends to see if the starter tries to engage. (Make sure car is out of gear, and parking brake is engaged). But this will tell you if the starter is any good.

Re: Stick with 888Rs or ...
So guys, I assume some of you live in "colder" climates and might not have heated garages, so I wanna ask this tire related question. Do you guys do anything over the winter to keep your tires from getting too cold? Wrap them? Park on wood? Here in the PNW of the US where I am, we had a we...

I've done some research, and the kumho v730 is highly rated. Anyone know anything about them? (Plus they come in the right sizes for my 3S).

Re: Tennessee Registration?
Just want to throw this out. I recently bought a 3S that has a TN VIN sticker on it. So it WAS registered there. I have no idea the hoops that the original owner had to jump through, but it has the sticker.

Re: Helmet and gloves
I would suggest getting a helmet with a duck bill on the chin as it helps stop the helmet from lifting when going at speed when the air tries to get under your helmet and forces your head back. YES, if you don't have a wind[shield|screen] you need either a duck bill on the front, or a spoiler on th...

Re: Helmet and gloves
Also, if you don't have the windscreen WEAR THE HELMET when you go out for a drive. I was on the freeway here in the US and had a stone of considerable size whiz by my head. I shudder to think what would have happened had it hit me, and I hadn't been wearing a helmet. That even cemented it for me.

Re: Stand alone Satnav - is the writing on the wall?
That's probably why Garmin has branched out. They now make a "Racing data logger" thing that supposedly includes realtime coaching delivered to you over bluetooth. (Garmin Catalyst). If anyone here HAS one of these, I'd like to know how well the coaching works, and what the battery life is...
