Re: 5555 MILE Review
I think if I were to buy one, I would use it to for instance commute into work. With a gentle detour I have about 30-40 mins of usually empty mountain roads. Do I care if it’s super charged as I slide around various switchbacks and have an absolute blast? I very much doubt it. Do I care if something...

Re: 5555 MILE Review
I’m kinda surprised about the whole it must be supercharged. Surely if you want to travel fast, you wouldn’t start with a Nomad? Isn’t the idea with the Nomad in fact slower fun that is accessible on more surfaces?

Re: Paddle shift-equipped Atom 3
Any issues with rebuild intervals or longevity in general on those Quaife gearboxes vs Sadev?

Re: Car storage
I asked them, they won’t.
There a few in the Bristol area like these guys: https://www.premiervehiclestorage.co.uk/services/. I don’t know anything about them, though.

Re: Atom 4 on Top Gear
It certainly looked like a handful, you can see he can't get the power down and it's almost pedestrian around the slower sweeping bends. Probably running on ZZR's in the cold damp does not help of course. From what I can see, that car is fitted with Yokohama Advan A052's. I don't know if that's Ari...

Re: Atom 4 on Top Gear
Agreed. His review was all over the place. I can't get enough of it, it's a mid life crisis, you should definitely buy one, it's expensive, it's a bargain, ... At least the visuals were impressive. The track stuff (and the video was really bad, I've seen way better created by people here)... come on...

Re: Atom 4 on Top Gear
Other than production quality and some YouTube friendly slides, not sure I see the big difference between this and the Fifth Gear test. Both saying it’s fast, it’s raw, and great on track. Chris Harris likes a narrative about how the previous version of much anything is a bit rubbish (despite having...

Re: Bike engines
Great post, thanks. I wouldn't mind some screaming revs on the other hand. I guess in the earlier Atoms, the VTEC engines filled this brief. I've never really been a fan of turbo-charged engines. Which is naturally why I put a deposit on an Atom 4... The naturally aspired engine in the Nomad, what i...

Bike engines
Any thoughts on why Ariel hasn't gone for bike engines instead of hot hatch engines seeing as it's a motorbike brand at heart? It would create an even more unique driving experience and would also be more interesting aurally. People have obviously fitted such things to Caterhams with some success.

Re: Euro trip - Pyrenees 2020
I’m not going to make it this year but I have looked at it before. One thing I suggest is to have a look at this Ride magazine which contains a lot of info on good roads in the Pyrenees: https://on.readly.com/s/GB!tu1kV6bx25f Another thing is that I read or someone told me that while it’s a lot quie...

Re: Atom 4 350bhp remap
Personally I’m not going for the upgrade out of the box. It’s an easy thing to add later if I for some reason conclude that totally bonkers performance is insufficient. It’s less than an additional 10% in power so I really doubt it fundamentally changes anything that isn’t in reality limited by my s...

He didn’t seem too keen on the turbo sound in the road segment.

Re: Atom 4 - Build and Collection
Looking at myself as an example, the Atom 4 is broadening the appeal of the Atom by being easier to drive and part of that would be the electronics. I could no doubt buy an M2 Competition (and it's a very good car) but clearly the Atom is something else entirely. I wouldn't make any assumptions abou...
