Re: Insurance costs
I'm with Reis, and my current insurance cost me £423.66 for my 2006 Atom 2 that I've had from new, although as I don't drive large distances any more, it's for a limited annual mileage of 2000 miles. I'm with A-plan, £530 for Mugen no5, 3k miles, no track days, that was £350 extra for 5. Following ...

Re: Ariel Atom 2 & 3 Handbooks For Sale
Nice to know, that my investment of purchasing an Atom 2 Handbook 13 years ago has increased in value quite nicely, because it's still in pristine, as-new condition.

Re: Security marked parts
When I bought a new Motorbike in April 1996, I had it Datataged, and even though I still own it, I've never had to use the service, because it's never been stolen. Also, when I bought a new Ford Sierra 4x4 Ghia Estate in August 1987, I had all the windows Etched, although I can't remember the name o...

Re: Ariel Club Calendar 2023
Mine arrived yesterday, along with Letters & Christmas Cards posted as far back as 2nd December.
Any way, I've made it onto the February page.

Re: Water temperature
When I was on the Alpine Tour back in 2008, something got sucked in and jammed the Radiator Fan causing it to fail. Unfortunately, the Support Vehicle had virtually everything, including a Radiator, but didn't have a Fan, so it couldn't be repaired. Although I kept an eye on the Temperatures, it did...

Re: Cool Atom number plates
I've had "80 AA" since I bought my Atom in 2006.
I've always toyed with the idea of contacting the AA to see if they'd like to include it in one of their adverts as an "AA Fast Response Vehicle"

Re: Aquaplaning on track
I've been an advocate for the Directional Toyo R888 for a very long time, as opposed to most owners preference for the Yokohama Advan A048, which I never liked, and I was pleased to see Ariel choose the Toyo's for the 500 V8. Any way, I only ever had one problem with the Toyo R888 aquaplaning, which...

Re: Atom 4 - Build and Collection
Beware of vehicles like Transit Vans with double rear wheels. I was coming through a very narrow street in Liverpool City Centre some years back, when one came the other way. I moved over as close as i could to the wall on my side, and it looked like he could squeeze past until I heard his rear whee...

Re: Atoms for sale - information thread
Well done for the mpg (under 9mpg with my man maths) that’s good going [emoji23][emoji23] 9MPG :H: You have to be joking, surely? I know I only have my 2006 Atom 2 245bhp, but I used to keep everything in a spreadsheet early on when I did a few track days each year and although I'll admit that I'm ...

Re: Atoms for sale - information thread
Sounds to me like they've been bought by a Company in the Motor Trade, whereby I think that they don't have to Register them until they are sold on to the Public. Similar to when they would buy your Used Car, and it goes onto their Stock until it's sold, but they never appear on the Registration Cer...

Re: Reverie seat cushion kits
Here's three photos I have on my computer showing "Seat Pads". One was on a former member's Atom, "Wisp" from c2010, which is most probably what gave me the idea to maybe make some for my Atom, the second photo is from about three years ago, and the third photo shows the small ro...

Re: Reverie seat cushion kits
I was always going to make my own Seat Pads. Friends of mine have a Motorbike Racing Team that has competed in BSB for about 20 years, and some time ago I was there when they were fitting Seat Pads to one of their Motorbikes. They told me that they sourced the fairly High Density Foam from a local s...
