Re: My Atom 4 Journey

Great write up! Hopefully by the time I'm back in an Atom, it'll be a fully sorted track animal thanks to the work that you guys are all putting in!

Re: Finance or Cash

I reckon most people probably pay cash but I do know of people that have gone the PCP with balloon option with the likes of JBR etc. robfitz is right though, these days your finance rates are typically going to be 6%+ so if you've got the cash available I'd always say pay cash. If...

Re: Long Trips in Atom

I found my Atom more comfortable than the Caterham I used to own but definitely colder. Side panels will help though.

Re: Water temperature

FYI I saw on one of the Facebook posts that Steve at the factory has got someone assigned to look at the cooling issues now so it'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

Re: First Track Day in Atom 4 Abingdon Airfield

Glad you had a good day. Instruction is the best thing you can spend your money on 👌 The car does run hot with the wings especially on a really warm day. 102 is not too bad - you'll still be able to lap normally and won't be limited. It's when it creeps above 105 I think is when the ECU starts to so...

Re: First Track Day in Atom 4 Abingdon Airfield

The difference between road settings and track on the Ohlins is massive so definitely pop them on the recommended track setup. I do the same thing as 911tom for the pressures and it works well. For general track day advice, I don't tend to head out immediately - you sometimes see ...

Re: Wrapping question

Here are a couple of pics I just took which hopefully show the join on the top and then the bottom piece that feeds into the snorkel - car has still got all of the bugs from Anglesey on it 🤣🤦‍♂️

Chrome is notoriously a PITA to wrap too!

Re: Wrapping question

Yeah I think one piece would be tough. The guys that did my wrap did it in two pieces with a little strip down the middle to join them. If you zoom in on my attached picture, you might just about be able to see the join but it's very well done and you'd have to be up really close to see it. The insi...

High Spec Ariel Atom 4 - Deposit Taken

Posted this on Facebook but thought I'd repost here for anyone not on Facebook: Hi All, The time has come to sell my beloved Atom 4 because I've found the perfect spec McLaren 720s. I've owned this car from new (March 2021) after ordering in October 2018 and spending many many months deliberating on...

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 brakes

My brakes (two piece APs) are fantastic at stopping the car and there's never any brake fade. It's just the pedal travel can be a little disconcerting before you recalibrate your brain. For me it's not enough of an issue to change the setup but then I never owned the older car so I don't know what I...

Re: The curious case of the Atom 4 brakes

An update after the Bedford track day... My pedal is now back to where it was before the brake bleed 😂🤦‍♂️ Will chat to the factory on Monday and see what they say. What did they say? They didn't really give me a conclusive answer. I will say though that the long pedal travel doesn't bother me too ...
