Re: Aquaplaning on track
Yes, 2 sets of wheels. One with the Avon, one with the Uniroyal. Swapping takes about 15 minutes - half of that if you've got a friend helping.

Re: Aquaplaning on track
Do you guys have different sets of tyres depending on the weather or is it a grin and bear it type of situation if you get caught in the rain? Went to a trackday with a damp cold track, not even rain, and my Avon ZZRs were pretty worthless. Understeering and sliding all over the place. Swapped them...

Do the suspension elements easily get damaged if you spin off track or can it take a beating?

Re: The Atom Video Thread - Post links to Atom videos here
Nice video, your Atom sounds nice, I can't wait to try Zolder next year. Mounted a gopro at the rear, straight under the exhaust, and used that sound for the video. Really happy with this setup. Been there... Its rubbish! :o That was fluid dropped on the track at Combe. lol  Looks pretty sca...

Re: The Atom Video Thread - Post links to Atom videos here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErJ0QZUEnRQ& Had a go at Zolder last Sunday. It was very cold (1-2 °C), big difference with the last time I was there in August. Didn't manage to catch my fastest lap (1.54) on video, but got a chance to test a dual gopro setup. Looking back I feel like I'm drivin...

Re: Aquaplaning on track
Only driven once in heavy rain. Had no issues with my Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyres. To be fair, wasn't trying to get good laptimes, only drifting.

Re: Corrosion in welding joints
The pictures are from 2 different welds. As far as I can see it's purely cosmetic.
I can't be the only one to have this, right?

Corrosion in welding joints
I noticed some corrosion forming in the welding joints of my 2010 car. What's the best course of action here? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191019/5b01e6317691e03b3ba7b2c80d6c9e35.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191019/a218560ae0a33efba0e5c5e03986d132.jpg Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapa...

Re: ZZR pressures on 3.5
This is what the factory told me: The ZZR on a 3/3.5 with the 16” rear and 15” front should be set at the following. Track cold front 12 psi and rear 14 psi, this was what we ran the Yokohama A048s at. You may need to experiment with adding a couple of extra psi. but 12 and 14 is a good base to star...

Re: Trailers
I put it on an open flatbed trailer. Don't like driving the thing on highways, especially not for 3-4 hours.

Electric = disappointment I sat at Caffeine & Machine a few weeks ago, drinking my cappuccino and the noises of cars in and out the car park!!! Soon, nothing, just lifeless (but ridiculously fast) electric machines coming in to charge their batteries!! Petrol heads will be a thing of the past s...

Fastlane, our of interest, how did you find the iPace and eTron? I’ve not driven the Audi yet, but thinking about one for the misses, chop in the SQ5. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I've driven the Jaguar for a few hours and it was a real disappointment, especially for the price it's at. I've h...

2016 Alpina B3 Touring Allrad. Comfortable, fast and discreet. Lovely sound. Even has a towing hook to pull the Atom to the track.

Re: Kumho V70A
So I've bought the Avon ZZRs and took them out on track yesterday. At the end of the day, I switched back to the Kumhos to see how they'd compare. The Kumhos made the ride a bit more comfortable and seemed to heat up a tiny bit faster. Kumho's had a little more oversteer coming out of corners, but i...
