Re: How do I prevent spinning my new Atom?

Maybe you're better book publishers than you are road racers?

Re: Exhaust baffle lets go?

Turn off the car and give the silencer a good bash with a gloved hand. You'll hear the rattle if it's loose enough. Put your ear to the exhaust pipe to get a nice carbon black marking, too, to be sure it's from the silencer and not surrounding metal parts. When the car was running it was more pronou...

Re: Exhaust baffle lets go?

I replaced this today. I was right - the original sounds like it has some cutlery loose inside when you shake it about. Car now sounds as it should.

Re: How do I prevent spinning my new Atom?

Whoops! Didn't see the book title buried in the URL in your post.

Now that two of us have 'told him' to read that book we're going to be accused of parental nagging....and I don't even have kids.

Re: How do I prevent spinning my new Atom?

Hi Whilst nothing will beat the actual experience of driving the car, if you want to learn the limits and how to come back from them, track theory is worth knowing, too. I found an American book called 'Going Faster' by the guys at Skip Barber Racing School really useful for track theory (ISBN: 0-83...

I'm 6'2". And the passenger was about 5'5".

But I swear Bruce has platform Sparco driving boots.

Re: Pulled by the police.

As Terry said there are some issues with the bulb seats. My right rear brake/side light kept going out. It always came back on if I pushed the bulb in a certain direction (eleven o'clock as you look at it). I fixed it by adding some heat resistant trim repair from Halfords. Cut it into small strips,...

Exhaust baffle lets go?

Has anyone else had a baffle come free in the exhaust silencer on the MK2? I'm pretty sure I have a loose one making a racket.

Re: Articles in Wikipedia...

OK...here's the truth... ;) It's me driving the old Fielding Gibson MK1...and the passenger is some little guy who asked for a ride. It was actually the Atom's very FIRST track outing at an airfield down in the south west somewhere, I think it was Kemble. It's not Bruntingthorpe. That was the day it...

Re: Missing my Atom

I am Stevo (in my best cinematic voice).  :) As Bruce mentioned, I used to share the turquoise MK1 with him back at the beginning of the century - about the 15th Atom to leave the 'factory', I seem to recall. Back in 2003 I started a new business, stopped atomic motion, but now I'm back with Kerr's ...

And beware of tea cosies. Apparently there are about 47 accidents in the home every year involving tea cosies.

Hmmm...come to think of it, there's a way of keeping your head warm in the Atom...
