Re: A4 vs earlier models. Newbie questions.
Agree on seats, but resolved by having tillett B4 and a five point IMHO (6ft7). Though I still get a beating from mistress ariel, at least I'm comfortable in the process :-)

Re: A4 vs earlier models. Newbie questions.
I'm not alone in having a very unpopular view that the supercharged cars are ever so slightly more exciting than the turbocharged ones Plus the brakes work and they don't have problems with the cooling. When I say ever so slightly I do, of course, mean a cock sight more exciting. And I've driven bo...

Re: A year crossed off , two to go
It worth noting the 4 and 4R waiting lists maybe separate and certainly the deposit is more on a 4R.

Re: Cat bypass pipe and MOTs
Definitely fails on emissions. CO and probably HC. Both idle and fast idle - or at least on mine (K20Z4 s/s)
Depending on what the cat looks like I.e. looks like a cat bypass then it will probably fail on visual inspection as well

Re: Insurance... again
Trailer it or get it transported back home. If its UK Registered, with UK plates then get the factory to unsure it and add you as a driver. This how friend insured his foreign brother in law with admiral while he was over for a month. However, with cost of this and road tax, surely its best to trans...

Re: Atom 2... supportable?
Yep, the factory and trusted indy such as cpl racing can support you. Unlike a radical with a bike engine, it won't require a 45min warm up routine every outing and an engine refresh every 40 hours - last time I looked anyway. Yearly maintenance and possibly a DIY oil change in between if you are OC...

Re: Wing Angles
The air is so dirty by the time it gets to the rear spoiler that personally I can't tell the difference from minimal downforce to max - particularly with the rollover loop attached.
Currently I have it set to maximum downforce setting - it may impact the vmax but on 3.5 there little or body aero.

Re: Upgrades rated
The Sadev requires chassis mods according to the factory, so though on the options list it looks 'cheap' and will tear clothing off attractive people at 100 paces, i got quoted £28k for a retrofit to a 3.5 cup. It also worth noting the strip down/replace required at 10k miles - though the factory sa...

Re: Cup Car For Road Use?
I own a ariel cup car with a supercharger fitted by the factory. Also has the aero. Good basis for going into a 3.5R. Make sure they have the porsche bearing upgrades otherwise you will forever replacing the them given the suspension setup gives very good grip. I've also put on ppf on exposed frame ...

Re: Second hand car prices
Yep - I've done 30k in my 335d since the last evaluation and its £200 more now. - similarly the golf has gone up by 2k even though the mileage has gone up by 10k, my friend's puma ST went up by £3k
Free motoring wasn't something I'd associate with golfs and fqestas on stilts.

Re: When is a 3.5R not a 3.5R?
Yep if the factory can't vouch for it, then its another atom with a power hike that may not have been done properly. CPL racing do a better version than the Jackson equivalent but its no cheaper than the factory upgrade (at least when I got the quote). This gets you upto 360-370 If I'm buying or upg...
