Thanks for the update guys ..

Sounds like you all enjoyed it despite the weather ..

Sorry about the encounter with that metal - That must have scared the lining daylights out of you - assuming you didn't see it  :o

Hopefully insurance will come good ..

It was most enjoyable - if a bit wet from time to tim

- I arrived in my daily driver much later that originally planned (22.50) at the hotel due to an unfortunate encounter shortly after leaving home in the dark and pouring rain on Friday morning with a RSJ off-cut (never saw it M'lud!) that destroyed both offside tyres and alloys on my UK car which caused me to miss the morning ferry - I made the 14.30 ferry with 8 minutes to spare having been 'low loadered' to Reading for two new tyres and one alloy to be repaired (one was a complete write off!)

Sir Nick kindly chauffeured me as his passenger for Saturday & Sunday which was most enjoyable - had 2 excellent meals locally in Arromanches and ate a lot of oysters!!

We got soaked on the Friday but made it to the hotel eventually. Perfect location for Omaha Beach and within reach of all the historic bits. I don't think there's anything we don't know about D-Day now. You get a real sense of the scale of the assault when you drive around that region.

Right...pub for Thursday evening (meaning dinner before we go to the ferry) is the Bird in Hand in Waterlooville. Arrive 5.30-6pm. We'll leave about 9ish.

3 hours of soft drinks!  Yuk!

Good pub that one, nice food.

Weather still holding up  :tu:

PS - can I have your return cabin?  Then I won't have to put up with Gibson  :P

I'm going down to the engine room, just so I don't have to listen to Nick talking about golf.  ;)

Really sad you can't make it Julian. Won't be the same without you.

Unfortunately I have to pull out of this one.
[/quote]

That's no good. Absolutely no way you can make it?

Unfortunately I have to pull out of this one. I have briefed Steve so he can fill in Nick and Paul. I am very pissed off as was really looking forward and weather looks great.

Needless to say there is a return crossing available costing me £277, large outside 2/4 ensuite cabin both ways.

3 nights double room £144.66, all three nights.

Anyone interested before I cancel direct.

I will take £300 the lot. Cheap.

PM your details so we can liaise if you are interested.

Thanks

Julian

Hi, Durky

We haven't settled a place for dinner yet, but as soon as we do I'll let you know, on here or by mobile. Our ferry out is another late one.

Fellas,
Just back in country so unable to clear more time away! As the Pompey Atom owner, can i ask where you intend meeting up before your ferries? It'd be great catching up again.

All the best, Mark

Luckily there is no lady amongst us as she would surely have to be known as N*****less!!

Think might I might have to be 'Nic' - being based in Cyprus (Nic....osia!!)

By the way is this true? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Nick  (scroll to the bottom!)

Paul

Paul could be Saint Nick, and hand us all presents!

Can we not all be Nick?

Sir Nick
Nick Nick (Julian is an old copper)
Old Nick (me, for I am a handsome devil)

...but which Nick are you Paul?
