I had information for the Italian passes, but looks that most of the Swiss passes are now open (eventually with some limitations).
The current risk is of some late snowfall at the passes due to poor weather. In a normal car this would be a small problem, but in an Atom could become pretty unpleasant.

As @wasp and I started our conversation at June, 04 the planned Swiss passes Susten, Grimsel, Furka and St. Gotthard old pass road are all 'winter closed' and this website tells me that they until June, 19th are closed.
So the hotels are cancelled now and we planned complete new routes. We are only 6 guys with 3 cars so we decided that we will rock the alps.
I tells me when the British guys pays a lot of money to come to the alps I will help that they all get a unbelivable experience.

At the last 10 days we had a lot and strong rain with warm temperature here, so the snow goes away. At June, 6th I made a phone call with the local police there to ask when the passes will be open. The very friendly police man tells me that they maybe open at June, 10th and he gives me a phone number where I can ask.
Just yesterday evening the upper website was updated and now this passes will be open at 10th and one at 11th.

So we will start now going in the West at Grimsel go East to Cortina de Ampezzo, South to Rovereto and Monte Baldo. The route I have planned now we will hit hundreds of hundreds of twisties and hair-pins and dozens of passes.
  :vroom:

@Totoro or all others who will drive with us you can join us only at Saturday evening at 19:30 for dinner at Dependence Del Parco, Porlezza
We will then start at Sunday morning.

Hi Totoro,

Thanks for the links, they could prove useful!

We have made some big changes to our plans under the advice of Alex as it looks like a number of the passes weren't yet open for the year.

If you want to join us, please do. We'll be at the Dependence Del Parco, Porlezza on Saturday night, after that we have cancelled the hotels and are just going for an adventure and where we end up, as long as there is wine and food, we'll be happy!

Cheers,
Stu

Hi Alex,

PM sent, sorry for the delay but I was away!

This could bugger up the plans a bit for sure, but I think we can all think about new (and better) routes over a glass of wine or two at the hotel in Como!

None of us are too fussy where we drive, as long as see some good twisty roads and end the day with some nice food and something pleasant to warm us up!

We will check the status of the roads on the way down and see which routes work best. I'm very happy for you to make suggestions.

I am not the trip leader in any way, just the fool who arranged the hotels and routes (which have apparently already gone to poo before we have even left!!)

They all looked like a good idea when I first looked in January! At least we will have some good photos with the snow!

We will look forward to seeing you and welcome all of your knowledge.

If anyone has any questions or suggestions, I'll be very happy to hear them! :tu:

Cheers,
Stu

Thx Steve,

At Realp is the temperatur at the moment 10,5 °C cloudy, raining and foggy.

But the big problem ist that most of the passes are closed at least to mid June.
They all closed:
Furka, Grimsel, Gotthard,  Nufenen, Susten
So I see no way to drive to the hotels in Reckingen or to Buochs.

The winter 2015/2016 was very late this year but as the snow came a large amount has fallen.
Normally the Gotthard opens at the End of May, but this year he is closed today.

Now I m waiting for a response from Stu. He is the alpine trip leader.
