It was a really good day out even if there was a Nomad owner there who didn't ask permission if he could travel with the Atoms!!

Well somebody has to keep you Atom homo's apart

Edit : I meant owners

I think we're lucky we can still go for a comfortable run in the morning. Hopefully one or two more before the weather makes it too frosty. Then some planning for next year's big outings...

Seriously, wonderful cars, Evans in his bus etc.

Lovely lunch and chat.

Good to meet Tom, new chap.

As Andrew said the fog didn't lift at all and that lovely warm day that was forecast didn't happen.

Lovely, lovely old cars, l was told 600 all pre 1905. Great spot Steve chose to observe, teas, coffees, burgers etc.

Shame more couldn't make it.

Regards

Julian

Just got back after sitting on the M25 for the last 20 miles at 20mph in the fog ,other than that it was a good run out.

Could you guys see anything?

The fog didn't clear around Bedford until about 2pm but then it was glorious.

Hi guys,

New owner here I've had the car for a week and would love to come out for a run early Sunday morning if I can tag along with you guys. I've got a children's  birthday party at 12.00 so will have to leave a bit early.

If that's okay with you guys can somebody PM me the address where we would meet on Sunday. Promise I won't hold you up .

Thanks Tom Horton

OK, plan is:

Meet at Putney Hill at 08.30

Head down to The Victory Inn at Staplefield in Sussex, using the country roads, for 10ish. We should catch the vintage car run as it goes past and should encounter some of the MG/Morgan/Bentley owners, if it's true that they gather there.

Then we can stay there for lunch or pick another venue down into Sussex or up to The Parrot at Forest Green.

Sounds like a great plan.

19 degrees forecast for Sunday.

Anyone else coming?

According to the website, they run most of the morning, with the last ones making Brighton at 4pm.

We'd need about 90 minutes to reach Staplefield going cross country.

Sounds great. They leave Hyde park apparently at sunrise and basically use the A23. slowest cars first, then gaps inbetween. They arrive in Brighton at 10. I think it should be a good spectacle?
What time would we have to set off from London to catch some of it?

There are a few stops on the vintage car route that seem to be favoured by some of the older car clubs for spectating. Seems MGs, Morgans and Bentleys gather by the Victory Inn next to Staplefield village green. It's east of the A281 route we took to Brighton a few months back. Might be somewhere to head for. Or even a little further south of there.
