However i reckon the Airfield is pretty hard on softer track day tyres so i'd quite like to do a purpose built track next year if poss.

I wouldn't disagree with that but it means a longer journey from, say, Castle Combe to get back to the hotel. About 1.5hrs possibly. If people ok with that then I'll try and organise Combe instead...

Pete did you have any other footage of that run before my spin? I think you were following me for a while weren't you...
Alex watch Run 4 from the start.

Run 4 >

You are 2 Atom's ahead of me from the start. Watch the first 5 mins approx. till your spin. I pass one other Atom then catch you.

Hi Steve, it's certainly on the radar but I've decided to keep the MSG the same format for next year mainly to gain some momentum and also to ensure the relationships I built this year with the people who helped me organise are maintained and built upon. I am then hoping to move in year 3 and start to alternate. We had members from both Cornwall and Scotland there and I'm sure all of those who attended would confirm it's worth the journey and the advanced planning. Often, those with longer journeys have made a longer weekend of it...

However, I am looking at trying to organise a Christmas meal further up north if there is some help from the Northern Chapter to suggest some decent hotels where we could hold it. Somewhere like Chester could be a good shout which is fairly accessible and certainly more North. That may also then help with the choices for MSG moving north.

Hotel needs to be decent, with a private event/dining area, preferably in a decent setting. Current rooms at Bicester cost around £135-185 depending on room type. Any help would be much appreciated. I seem to remember somewhere like Rowton Hall Hotel & Spa being half decent?

Alex

Great to meet some of you and a great day was had.
As a suggestion for next time, perhaps a proper track rather than airfield - only because it’s very abrasive there and flicks stones - maybe Castle Combe, Brands or even Bedford?
Great photos too.
Kai
Kai, good to see you Friday mate. This has been mentioned and I'm on it already. Castle Combe is the next easiest option in terms of organising with Motorsport Events, but it's more than an hour away from the hotel so would need to know if this is acceptable. Silverstone is a possibility but we won't know until later in the year due to national race calendar. I'll also check out some others locally like Bedford but private hire could be very expensive...leave it with me.

Some vids from Abingdon from my YouTube channel. Lots of other Atoms and Nomads in there. I can chop out sections from any off them if you want a little vid of your car on track (as I have done for Alex's spin). Just PM me with the approx. time and which file. :)

A big thank you to Alex for arranging clearly a superb weekend. It was great to meet the new Owners and see the longer standing ones again. Sorry I couldnt stay for more of it but next year is in the diary so hopefully I can see you all longer then.
