Curves Junkie,

Front Toe: 1mm OUT each side

Rear Toe: 1.5mm IN each side.

btw. Changing chamber top the max settings that Henry suggested worked for me pretty well. Feels much more stable. πŸ‘
How much millimetres are 9min/12min and is the Toe Setting the same for Atom3?

Oli,

the toe stays the same for both standard and Atom Cup cars.

Hi Henry,

thanks for this excellent information!! :tu:

-2 deg rear
I will start with this setting and check how this affects the feel of the car and my ability to push laptimes.

HenryJS wrote: ↑Thu Mar 15, 2018 1:47 pm Also note that the standard wheel bearing on the Atom 2 will not last that long when increasing the camber past about -1 degree.
On the rear i changed to the uprated uprights and wheel bearings. But will check them more often all around.

Hi Oli,

-1 deg front
-2 deg rear

Is fine on standard wishbones for an Atom 2.

don't go any further than this as there will not be enough thread in the wishbone.

Also note that the standard wheel bearing on the Atom 2 will not last that long when increasing the camber past about -1 degree.

You could also purchase 'Atom Cup' top wishbones, that would give you -2'45" front and -3'45" rear, doing this and lowering the rear ride height by 10mm at the rear achieves an 'Atom Cup' Setting. The difference in mechanical grip is huge - but the line between control and not control becomes much thinner... You will find the more aggressive you make the settings, the more lift-off over-steer you will get.

To set the rear to this extreme setting, use the camber gauge at standard ride height, and set to -2'45". then lower the ride height after the camber is set and you will achieve the -3'45".

The cup car settings are also at the limit of what the replacement wishbones are capable of. Increase camber any more and you start to make the car worse again...

Max. Camber setting AA2?

by Oli1122 » Tue Mar 13, 2018 7:50 pm

Hello everyone,
as i'm searching for bit more stability on track esp. in quick corners (160km/h+) i want to experiment with higher camber settings.

At the moment i'm driving more of a street setup:
front: -0.47 deg. / -0.18' TO
back: -1.10 deg. / +0.25' TI

I'm looking more on a setting like:
front - 1.0 deg. (difference to current setups + 4.5 rod end half turns)
back -2.5 deg. (difference to current setups + 12 rod end halt turns) - that might be thread problem (achievable?)

As the owners handbook stated: 1 rod end half turn = 7min = 0.11667 deg.

Does anyone know what the max. camber settings are that can be achieved (front and back) on a AA2?
(As I read on a forum topic -4.5 deg. might be the optimum for track use but i really cannot see that happen looking on the current left rod end thread).

Any suggestions?
