Nissan Leaf sells out in U.S. (all 10 of them).

AP: Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf post small December sales
"Sales so far have been microscopic and they're likely to stay that way for some time because of limited supplies....
It will be well into 2012 before both the Volt and Leaf are available nationwide. And if you're interested in buying one, you'll need to get behind the 50,000 people already on waiting lists....
The first electric car sales were marked with fanfare. The envy of green-car geeks across the country, new owners were treated like rock stars at dealerships. They were greeted by high-level GM and Nissan executives, followed by cameramen and interviewed by local reporters.
"

Alyssa Milano orders electric cars
"I'm obsessed with everything green. I just pre-ordered the Nissan LEAF and my husband is getting the Volt. How cute are we?!"

That mook married Alyssa Milano?  Damn, if I were 100 times richer and dressed better, I could've had a shot.

The Evora 414E Hybrid is driven by two electric motors driving each of the rear wheels independently via single speed gear train. Electrical power is supplied from a lithium polymer battery pack and a 1.2 litre, three-cylinder engine with an integrated electrical generator.
The Lotus Range Extender engine features an innovative aluminium monoblock construction where the cylinder block, head and exhaust manifold are all one casting.

So we finally get quiet cars and now the need to make them loud?  Should we put sound generators on bicycles and skateboarders, too?

Apparently, we need noisy cars in the U.S.  Details to be worked out in the regulations to follow.

On this, they can be unanimous?

Origination of stupid lawsuits not limited to Americans.

But some judges have some sense:
Suit by girls named Zoe thrown out
even if plaintiffs don't - they announce appeal.

Car features 'Quickdrop', a three minute automated battery exchange.

GE to Place Order for `Tens of Thousands' of Electric Vehicles
"Expanding the world’s fleet of electric vehicles would bolster GE as it expands so-called clean-energy technology such as car chargers, solar panels and wind turbines. For every dollar of electric-vehicle sales, GE estimates it may get 10 cents in revenue, said Gary Sheffer, a spokesman."
