My 3.5R Atom has been at Project 357 (car wrappers) in Nicosia to have 3M Scotch Guard (self-healing stone guard) applied to my side-pod leading edges.
Before anyone asks why I didn't go for a matt wrapping gloss was only decided upon after quite a bit of advice from 3M's technical dept that their gloss product has significantly more resistance to UVA than their matt product - so, as my Atom is in Cyprus, it seemed sensible to go for the gloss product - which, in all honesty, would probably not have been my first choice!
If has been applied as a double layer - it is applied cold using water with a bit of baby shampoo in it to allow positional adjustments as, unlike vinyl, it cannot be stretched so has to cut to a template before being applied. However, as it has been double layered, small stone blemishes can usually be removed/smoothed using a hot air gun!
After the film has been applied it has to be left for several hours both between applying the layers and also when completed to allow the water to evaporate naturally and for the integral adhesive bond to strengthen.
