The lever can be used as it is (there's a cable retainer you can get from factory, see pick - not expensive)
I cut the caliper-end of the cables to fit the cable adjuster/nipple I fitted
I cut the driver's side cable down a bit as it doesn't have as far to go
I get my MoT station to road test the brakes (they get a free passenger ride) and use a combination of engine braking and handbrake to get the required retardation. Not sure it would pass a rolling road test as it's difficult to get enough pull on the lever when inside the car
7.2 to 1 ratio used
Also found email from Alcon back in 2010 stating they only sell the handbrake calipers to Ariel
