In NA form at least, the FBW throttle was a total nightmare in my car. Bunny hopped like you wouldn't believe. The only solution to it, as I recall, was fitting a supercharger - something I was against (I didn't want a charged car). The NVH levels were considerably improved over the 2 I had & the uprights a lot more solid/ reliable. That said, my uprights failed on the first track day I had out in my 3 - something that had never happened in the 2 (which I tracked a lot).
Maybe I had a bit of a Friday afternoon car, who knows, but I ended up preferring the rawness of the 2 in the end. The 3.5 really was different, however. The extra .5 moniker didn't really do it justice - though of course it made sense to name it as such.
