Kempo, the pics of the manifold look like the stock unit. Am I mistaken or did you just increase the diameter if the pipe and muffler? Also, would the hp increase come from this alone or did you place a larger aftercooler? I'm not following this very well.

The manifold is the stock unit but it was cut about 2" higher above the stock 3 bolt flange. This made the manifold exit 3" in diameter to accept the new 3" flange for the new exhaust. That is why the O2 sensor is not on the manifold anymore since the cut was made above the O2 stock bung. The increase in HP was with the new exhaust only. The previous dyno run was with the "300 upgrade" and the larger after cooler radiator.

Would a dyno tech or an LSJ specialist have typical access to a guage for reading the temps.[/quote]

If you can trust what the ECU tells you, any OBDII reader that can display live data can pull this info. I use the AutoEnginuity tool which can display the data as graphs, as well as logging it for later analysis. Others here use (I think) Interceptor gauges.

gotcha, so the item that I definitely don't know is what AIT2's are occurring in my vehicle....If I could confirm that for example by MY 5th run that they were up at 200-205 it would show that my car is moving to the higher temps way way faster then you....if my temps don't go above 140...I guess we've got other issues.

Would a dyno tech or an LSJ specialist have typical access to a guage for reading the temps.

The guy that did my dyno does tons of tuning on cobalts and will be doing the final tuning once the new exhaust is done and the water injection is installed, would he have a way to verify AIT2s

That may be it. But to be honest after a few laps at the track I see the same 200-205*f on my IAT2 as I did with the small oil cooler type aftercooler radiator. On the dyno tonight the higher I saw on the IAT2 after all 5 runs was 140*f so maybe the larger radiator helps a bit doing pull after pull as it has a bit of time with out boosting between pulls to cool down a bit. This is not the case on the track where boost and cooling demand is non stop for the SC and after cooler system. BTW the temp readings were taken from a aeroforce gauge. As you said this are just my toughts I may be wrong on this.

well maybe you're larger radiator IS removing the heatsoak issue.  What are your thoughts, because that's wayyyyy different than what occurred on my 3 pulls.

My peak HP ranged from 249-251HP the best ones were the 4th and 5th ones with the 251 on both runs. My plan was to give it al least 8 0r 10 back to back runs but my belt got shredded in the 5th run so I had to call it the day.

awesome, what was your peak hp on each run, did your car heatsoak as bad as mine?  mine started at 233hp and got down to 209hp by the 5th run just for reference.

Just got back fron the dyno. The new exhaust gave me 13 more WHP. I did 5 back to back runs to heat soak the SC and that was the result. Ambient temperature was 86*F before the exhaust I had 238WHP on the same dyno.

I think they are inserted and then welded. They come a bit smaller than the diameter of the pipe to de inserted inside.

Are the ends of that flexi inserted into the solid pipes or have they been shortened?

What are the ends of the pipes shaped like with V band clamps? Two flares with a "donut" as a seal?

I am not trying to be a wise guy,I'm just not sure what you are talking about when you say you are going to use a v band clamp exhaust connection.

You would weld one of this flanges to the end of each pipe and then clamp them with the V band clamp. That makes a very strong seal yet is very easy to remove by just opening the clamp.

When you say V flange, are you referring to ball and flare pipe ends with a two bolt floating flange for retention?

As Silver said I mean v band clamps.
