if anyone's still looking for a harrop...found this site

http://www.cobalt-addiction.com/performance.htm

shows 1850 still for price, I would bet they just haven't gotten any orders since the price increase but if they have one on the shelf you might want to hit them up.

It is slightly bigger than the intake side of the Harrop as I had to step it down

it's 3 inch diameter per Tom's website

What's the diameter on that intake Norm?

Memory, ... I have none.  I will have to measure it when I am with the car and update ...

We know the side air straight intake works for Norm and works well.

We were worried about it, but, no issues

I can tell you on my turbo setup, the filter is right up against the MAF bung.  No issues.

That said.. I think by removing the stock panel and allowing more air in, you're gonna need a larger MAF housing.  I think you're going to overflow the MAF, and then you're screwed.

he said he never tested it with the perrin filter and stock tube............so, no data.

BUT,

check your PM

I'll have a wide band hooked up and data logging, but I don't think the maf will be an issue. Most cars have them close to the filter. Did DC have issues with his car after he modded the intake track?

you might still be running into issues with the maf being too close to the filter, AND the irregular diameter of the factory intake.

Have you considered taking your air intake tube to an exhaust shop and having them mandrel bend a pipe to match, in either 3.0 or 3.5" diameter piping?

just a thought since you don't want to do the side air intake.

Update on the install...doing the double factory filters in a "V" formation is not going to work..it's just not air tight enough for my likings...without some serious fabrication work (too time consuming..) so I will do the chop-o-roo on the intake inlet and use the Perrin 3.125" cone filter like DC has done. What the hell..it's just a piece of useless plastic if you need more air..  :H: . The roads might actually clear off enough to get the car out for a test run this week... ;D

ZZP isn't an official dealer, turns out the one that they had that apparently someone purchased before me they purchased from OTTP.

Josh at OTTP is going to take care of me.

If you have to pay "full price", why not get it from DDM Works with the installation kit?  And at least they can give you installation support if you have a problem.  That's what I'll probably do unless someplace else has a killer deal.
