jack up the car so the wheel is free and then try to move the wheel (toward and away from the car, like you were trying to pull it off).  If there is any movement then that suggests a problem.

Okay, so I've seen all the talk about upright failures, etc...

The big question right now is how to check mine.

I'm pretty sure that I have the upgraded uprights (#38, built in Jan 07).
I have no idea if I have the upgraded spindles.

I have no idea how to take anything off to check (well, I know how to take the wheels off, but that's about it.)

Does anyone have some simple step-by-step instructions on how to take the spindles off, and how to see if I need new spindles, or need to replace the bearings, etc.
