That looks like what I'm looking for.
Thanks Terry!

So, nobody has any idea how to get the throttle position as a 5v signal?

(ODB is not a good solution, as that often does not update quickly enough.)

You can read the accelerator pedal position if that helps. I don't have the ECU pinouts with me (I'm away till the weekend). But there are two sensors in the accelerator - one where voltage increases with pedal travel and one where voltage decreases. The ECU compares the rate of change of the two and drops a P1239 if they don't correlate, so you can't load the sensor with too much impedance.

Throttle position is electronic and recorded in the ECU as "Throttle Position Angle(%)" this can be read by OBD2 reader.  Not sure how to get it to traqmate though

ECU & Throttle Position?

by nickpoore » Wed May 14, 2008 11:31 pm

Hey Guys.

I'm trying to get data from the wiring harness/ECU to tell me what position the throttle is in.

I'm trying to log data onto a TraqMate for data acquisition at a racetrack.
I can get RPM from a tach-signal cable.
I can get BRAKE from the brake light cable.

I'm trying to get THROTTLE position.
Since this is a fly-by-wire throttle, the data has to be there somewhere....

Does anyone with a shop manual have any idea?

Thanks.
Nick.
